RAMALLAH, April 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Thursday with the Palestinian NGO Network, with participation from representatives in Gaza via video conference, at his office in Ramallah to discuss a number of shared concerns, focusing on unifying efforts and strengthening coordination to support Palestinians in areas targeted by Israeli occupation forces and settlers.
Mustafa briefed attendees on the major challenges facing civil society institutions under Israeli restrictions in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, as well as the Gaza Strip, citing harassment, closures, and ongoing challenges affecting their work.
During the meeting, participants agreed to form a joint committee between the government and the NGO network to enhance coordination and improve response mechanisms.
The Prime Minister also reviewed ongoing government efforts to provide services despite financial constraints and occupation measures aimed at undermining national institutions. He pointed to progress in implementing the government’s reform and development agenda, describing it as a national priority carried out in partnership with civil society organizations, and reaffirmed the government’s openness to further cooperation.
Mustafa stressed the importance of the role played by civil society organizations across various sectors, particularly in strengthening community resilience through relief interventions, legal advocacy, documentation of violations, and humanitarian and development work, especially in Gaza. He emphasized the need to deepen collaboration in these areas.
Participants expressed appreciation for the government’s support of civil society institutions and affirmed their alignment with government efforts in confronting Israeli measures, advocating for the Palestinian cause internationally, and expanding relief efforts in both the West Bank and Gaza.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of interior, justice, social development, and transport, as well as representatives from the Palestinian Monetary Authority and civil society organizations, with Gaza-based participants joining remotely.
