President Abbas Meets with Moratinos in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, February 2, 2010 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas, said, today that he discussed with the Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos bilateral relations, in addition to a number of issues concerning the peace process and the obstacles that stand before it.

He added, in a joint news conference with Moratinos, held at the Presidential Office in Ramallah: “I am very happy to have met today with our dear friend and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, who visit us these days, and also as the Foreign Minister of the Presidency of the European Union.”

“We engaged in a number of issues concerning the peace process and the obstacles that stand before it, in addition to bilateral relations,” The President continued.

He thanked Spain for its efforts to support the Palestinian people, in the past, present and future.

He added that what is important is to offer them all the necessary reports to see what is happening in the Palestinian Territory, be it Israel's actions in Jerusalem and the rest of Palestinian Territory, and the status of the peace process and the position of these countries.

He continued on: We talked about the economic support provided by all of these countries, where the positions of positive support and assistance for the advancement of the Palestinian economy.
