JERUSALEM, April 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday detained an employee of the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli forces detained Raed Zughair, an employee of the Islamic Waqf Department, as he entered the department's headquarters in the Bab al-Majlis area outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The Waqf Department, run by Jordan, is the official body in charge of the affairs of holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
