GAZA, April 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has risen to 72,562, with 172,320 injured since the start of the war in October 2023, medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday.

Local health authorities reported that hospitals across Gaza received two fatalities over the past 24 hours, including one who succumbed to previous injuries, in addition to four new injuries.

They added that the total number of fatalities since the start of ceasefire on October 11, 2025, has reached 786, while injuries have risen to 2,217, with 761 bodies recovered from under the rubble since then.

Medical teams said that a number of victims are still trapped under debris and on roads, as ambulance and rescue crews remain unable to reach them due to ongoing conditions on the ground.
