RAMALLAH, April 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Wednesday evening killed a Palestinian in an attack on Deir Dibwan town, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to medical sources.
They said that Odeh Atef Odeh Awawdeh, 29, succumbed to his injury sustained in the back due to colonists’ gunfire shortly after arriving at Ramallah Medical Complex.
According to local sources, armed colonists attacked the outskirts of the town, firing live ammunition at the inhabitants, without any justification, critically wounding Awawdeh.
They added that the occupation forces concurrently sealed off the town entrance before storming it and rounding up 30 inhabitants.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
