Ministerial Council Affirms Delivery of Investigation to UN

RAMALLAH, February 1, 2010 (WAFA)- The Ministerial Council affirmed, today, in its weekly meeting that the Palestinian Authority had provided the preliminary report prepared by the Independent Commission on the report of the Goldstone to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the obligations, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 64/10.

The Committee was formed by a presidential decree and is headed by Judge Issa Abu Sharar, former Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, and includes a number of retired judges and legal experts, will continue to work to complete the requirements of General Assembly

The Ministerial Council decided to allocate Jenin’s industrial lands (around 1000 Dunoms) to establish an industrial zone to reinforce the national economy.

The council decided that the Ministry of Planning should study the possibility of adopting a model of international standards of excellence for all PA institutions to improve the institutional work in line with the Government's Plan to build the institutions of independent State of Palestine.

It has also decided to form a ministerial committee to develop a mechanism to import raw gold to the Palestinian Territory, as part of its quest to build the institutions of the state, and the fight strife smuggling and increase revenues, as well as promoting the national product, and development of gold industry.
