RAMALLAH, January 24, 2010 (WAFA)- Wholesale Price Index Increased (WPI) by 0.99% and  Producer Price Index (PPI) by 1.51% during the Fourth quarter 2009 compared with the Third quarter, in the Palestinian Territory, Palestinian Central Bureau  of Statistics (PCBS) said.

It indicated that there was increased in the price index for the Palestinian Territory with its 2007 base year (2007=100) as. The overall Wholesale Price Index (WHI) reached 111.39 in the 4th quarter 2009, with 0.99% increase compared with the 3rd quarter 2009, and the overall Producer Price Index (PPI) reached 111.26 in the 4th quarter 2009, with 1.51% increase compared with the 3rd quarter 2009.

PCBS analyzed wholesale price developments for this quarter indicated changes in the following major groups as follow: Manufacturing group + 0.42 %; Mining and quarrying - 1.01 %; Fishing - 0.35 %; Agriculture goods + 2.44 %.

It also analyzed the producer price developments for this quarter indicated changes in the following major groups as follow: Manufacturing group + 0.28 %; Mining and quarrying  - 0.30 %, Fishing - 0.31 %; Agriculture goods+ 3.88 %.
