“It is a wonderful coincidence that we meet, hereby, with the Youth Parliament, and afterwards meet with the Central Council. If this succession had significance, it signifies the integrality of generations and consistency for serving our homeland and cause. We do not, therefore, talk about generation conflicts but cohesion,” President Mahmoud Abbas said, today.
In a speech pronounced in the launching ceremony of Palestine’s Youth Festival held in Ramallah’s Cultural Palace, the President pointed that those who do not recognize the importance of youth will never have a future.
He made clear that the youth have a special importance in Palestinian history; they started the 1965 revolution, 65% of Fateh’s 6th conference is of the young generation as well as about 80% of its revolutionary council.
He called on young people to take the lead of the Palestinian Legislative Council and Government after the next elections.
