RAMALLAH, December 14, 2009 (WAFA)- The Overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Palestinian Territory with its 2004 base year (2004=100) reached 127.01 in November 2009, it increased by 0.63% compared with October 2009, and increased by 3.19% compared with November 2008, .
Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said that analysis of consumer price developments for November indicates increases in the following major expenditure groups: Housing by 1.65%; Miscellaneous goods and services by 1.43%; Transportation by 1.16%; Food and soft drinks by 0.59%; Textiles, clothing and footwear by 0.40%; Restaurants, cafes and hotels by 0.34% and Furniture, household goods by 0.13%.
At the same time, there were decreases in other major expenditure groups including: Recreational, cultural goods & services by 0.01%; Communications by 0.03%; Medical care by 0.05%; Alcoholic Beverages and tobacco by 0.07%.
Palestinian Territory regions experienced different overall CPI developments as follows: West Bank excluding those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israel in 1967: 1.03%; Gaza Strip: 0.91% and Jerusalem J1: + 0.23%.
