Female Detainees Launch Hunger Strike in Israeli jails
RAMALLAH, November 6, 2007 (WAFA)-Detainees Study Center said that Fateh female detainees imprisoned by Israel launched a Hunger Strike to show solidarity with the detainee Amna Mona, who is confined to solitary in Al Ramla Israeli prison.
In a letter addressed to the Center, the detainees stated that this strike comes to practice pressure on the Israeli prison authorities in order to call off a recent order extending the solitary confinement of Mona.
Mona is suffering from several physical and psychological problems and is in solitary confinement in Al Ramla prison.
Last week, Mona , who was kidnapped by Israeli forces on January 17, 2001, started a hunger strike in protest to her ongoing solitary detention and the bad living conditions.
