King Abdullah of Jordan, Pakistan’s Musharraf Discuss Palestinian Issue
ISLAMABAD, November 1, 2007 (WAFA) - King Abdullah II of Jordan and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf discussed on Thursday the current situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian cause.
During talks in Islamabad, King Abdullah briefed Musharraf on political developments in the region, mainly efforts exerted to push the peace process forward and achieve just and permanent peace, through reaching a just solution to the Palestinian issue.
Abdullah also said it was important for Pakistan and the Islamic world to support these efforts and play an influential role in light of preparation being taken to hold the international peace meeting called for by the United States later this year.
King Abdullah added that the international peace meeting provides an important opportunity to find permanent solutions to final status issues and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
