Ereikat: Shortest Way for Peace and Stability is Meaningful Peace process
RAMALLAH, November 1, 2007 (WAFA)-Head of PLO Negotiation Department, Saeb Ereikat stressed that shortest way for security, peace and stability is a substance peace process denounced Israeli military aggressions on the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
Following his meeting with EU Envoy for the Mideast peace process, Marc Otté in Ramallah, Eriekat stressed that the shortest way for security, peace and stability in the region is in launching a meaningful and credible peace process lead to the end of Israeli occupation, establishment of the independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital as well as a solution guarantees all final issues such as Jerusalem, borders, settlements, refugees, water, security and public relations.
Ereikat added that the imposing siege and escalation on Gaza Strip as well as the threat of cutting basic needs are a flagrant violation to international law and Geneva convention.
"The Israeli acts such as aggressions, assassinations, arrests, siege, closer, demolishing, construction of the Annexation and Separation Wall and imposing facts on the ground would expand the cycle of violence, "Erikat said.
He Erikat called on international community to immediately stop such aggressions and oblige the Israeli government not to stop the flow of the humanitarian needs for million and half people in the Gaza Strip, particularly foods, medicines, fuel, electricity and water.
