President Meets with Israeli PM in Jerusalem
RAMALLAH, August 28, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas met Tuesday with the Israeli PM, Ehud Olmert, in Jerusalem.
Chief of Negotiation Department at the PLO, Dr. Saeb Erikat, said that President Abbas and Olmert discussed several political key issues.
In a press conference, held in Ramallah, Erikat said the meeting was "good and deep".
He added that the two leaders did not reach the level of the details of issues relevant to the final status.
Erikat affirmed that the current phase is for making decisions rather than negotiating, affirming that there were not exchange of documents during the meeting.
He told reporters that the PLO is looking for a peace based on the relevant UN resolutions, Arab Initiative, Road Map and the vision of President George Bush.
Erikat affirmed that all such bases lead to the end of the Israeli occupation.
Regarding the international conference for peace, Chief of Negotiation Department said that President Abbas has not received an official invitation.
He asserted that as long as the conference is on a comprehensive and just peace, President insisted that all parties, including Syria and Lebanon, will attend the conference.
