RAMALLAH, June 13, 2007 (WAFA) - President Abbas had a phone call on Wednesday with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

During the phone call, both discussed the situation in the Palestinian territory in light of the Israeli military escalation. They also discussed the situation in Nahr al Bred and the suffering of the Palestinian refugees there.

President Abbas also discussed with Ki-moon the truce with Israel and the internal situation as well as the activity of the unity government.

President Abbas stressed the necessity of keeping the Mecca Agreement as well as facilitating the work of the unity government.
