PCHR Condemns Israeli Crimes in OPT
GAZA, June 3, 2007, (WAFA) - Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) said that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed 2 children, wounded a third one in Northern Gaza Strip, and extra-judicially executed a citizen in the South.
In a press release issued Sunday, PCHR revealed that IOF continued their military operations in the Gaza Strip for more than 3 weeks, adding that 55 Palestinians, including 23 citizens, have been killed and dozens of others, mostly citizens, have been wounded.
PCHR condemned Israeli latest crimes which are part of a series of continuous crimes committed by IOF in the OPT in disregard for the lives of Palestinian citizens, considering them a form of collective punishment against the Palestinian civilian population in violation of article 33 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
It called upon the international community to immediately intervene to stop such crimes, and called upon the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War to fulfil their obligation.
