Lavrov warns of Rising Tension in Middle East
MOSCOW, May,30 2007, (WAFA)-Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov said that the rising tension in the Middle East would not serve the interests of Palestinians and Israelis.
In a statement on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website, the Ministry said that Lavrov warned, over phone call with his Israeli counterpart, Tzipi Livni , of the rising tension in the occupied Palestinian territory, which threatens security and stability in the entire region.
Lavrov called for the necessity of resumption negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
