JERUSALAM, May 26, 2007, (WAFA)-Patriarchs and Heads of Local Christian Churches in Jerusalem called for International Church Action for Peace in Palestine and Israel, June 3re , 2007.

In a message on the 40th anniversary of occupation by the Israelis of land previously held by Palestinians, they said that the Palestinian endured daily hardships and humiliation with deprivations of International Human rights. "The security of Israel is dependent on the freedom and justice of the Palestinians."

" Now we seriously believe it is time to intensify action, particularly through negotiations, to end occupation, establish an independent Palestinian state- consistant with UN resolution 242&338-and with borders clearly defined, thus giving both peoples, Israelis and Palestinians alike, human dignity, security and equal opportunities," Head of Local Christian Churches in Jerusalem said.

"We must clearly affirm we are God's children and so give specific support to work diligently for peace now."
