RAMALLAH, Sunday, June 07, 2020 (WAFA) – News about injuries during protests against Israeli plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank were highlighted in the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that at least five Palestinians were injured on Saturday when Israeli forces fired teargas, rubber-coated rounds and stun grenades at dozens of protesters demonstrating in the village of Kafr Qaddum, in the northwest of the West Bank, against the Israeli plan to annex parts of the occupied territory to Israeli sovereignty, injuring five of them.
Thousands of Israelis gathered on Saturday evening in the city of Tel Aviv to protest against Israeli plans of annexing parts of the West Bank, the dailies highlighted.
The papers said that two Palestinian nationals in Egypt and one in Saudi Arabia died on Saturday of COVID-19, adding that no new cases were recorded in Palestine.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that President Mahmoud Abbas last night paid tribute to former leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Ramadan Abdullah Shallah, who passed away on Saturday evening.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said that thousands of Americans in Washington and other cities in the US went on protests against police brutality and racism.
