RAMALLAH, Friday, May 29, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces opened gunfire today and killed a Palestinian young man while driving a vehicle near the village of Nabi Saleh, to the west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, local sources said.
The forces reportedly fired live shots at the vehicle in mysterious circumstances, seriously wounding the driver who succumbed to his wounds a couple of minutes later.
Israeli soldiers denied access of medics to the scene to provide the man with first aid before he was announced dead. The man‘s identity was not yet declared.
Clashes erupted with angry civilians following the shooting incident, and soldiers fired live shots and rubber-coated rounds at the protesters to disperse them. A man with Down syndrome was injured by a live shot in his foot fired by the soldiers. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
