JERUSALEM, April 2, 2026 (WAFA) – For the 34th consecutive day, Israeli occupation authorities continue to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound to worshippers, citing security concerns related to the US-Israeli war on Iran.
The occupation police are also tightening their military measures around the holy city and at the entrances to Palestinian cities and towns in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, groups advocating for the alleged Temple Mount continue their incitement to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish Passover holiday, calling for the sacrifice of animals inside the compound and demanding its reopening during the holiday period, which runs from April 2 to 9.
In response, the occupation is exploiting the "state of emergency" as a pretext to consolidate its control over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, amidst escalating calls from the Palestinian public and Jerusalemites to mobilize towards the nearest military checkpoints and barriers surrounding the mosque to break the imposed siege and force its reopening.
