RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 30, 2020 (WAFA0 – President Mahmoud Abbas today named Nabil Shaath as special representative of the President of the State of Palestine and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Shaath, 81, is an economist and had served several cabinet posts in various Palestinian governments in addition to a major role in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations and recently was political advisor to President Abbas.
