Medic among 49 Palestinians injured by Israeli forces at Gaza border

GAZA, Friday, June 14, 2019 (WAFA) – At least 49 Palestinians, including a medic, were injured by live bullets or rubber-coated rounds today as Israeli forces attacked hundreds of protesters taking part in the Great March of Return at Gaza-Israel border, according to medical sources.

The forces fired live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds at the protesters who gathered at many encampments along the border, injuring 49 protesters by live bullets, including a female paramedic east of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Some of the wounded were moved to hospital and others were treated in the field hospitals.

Dozens of Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the Great March of Return protests at Gaza border on March 30, 2018.

The weekly protests call for lifting the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip and for the return of the Palestinian refugees to their ancestral homes in pre-1948 Palestine.
