RAMALLAH, July 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh warned of the serious consequences of the Israeli occupation government's attempts to derail efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and halting its aggression in the West Bank.
These efforts are being sabotaged through the destruction of thousands of homes in the Jenin and Tulkarm refugee camps, the forced evacuation of residents, colonists’ terrorism, and the ongoing massacres, killings, and starvation in Gaza.
Abu Rudeineh called on the U.S. administration to exert pressure on Israel, the occupying power, to engage with efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive cessation of aggression across all Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and to halt attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He noted that U.S. calls to end the war in Gaza must be backed by a firm and practical stance to halt the aggression against cities, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank, and to uphold international legitimacy resolutions, which represent the only viable path to achieving security and stability in the region.
Abu Rudeineh stressed that the Palestinian people are facing an all-out war targeting their cities, villages, and camps, along with a financial blockade. However, with the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their leadership’s commitment to national principles and Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the State of Palestine, these efforts will fail, he added.
He stressed that true security and peace can only be achieved by recognizing the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.
