GAZA, July 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Dozens of citizens were killed and wounded in intense Israeli shelling of several areas in the Gaza Strip since early Wednesday morning.
WAFA correspondent reported that six citizens were killed and others were wounded when the Israeli occupation forces shelled tents for displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis. Ten citizens, including children, were also wounded when tents sheltering displaced people were shelled in the same area, which is considered a "safe area" for displaced families, but has been repeatedly bombed in recent weeks.
He added that four other citizens were killed and others were wounded when the occupation forces shelled a house belonging to the Zeno family on Jaffa Street in central Gaza City.
According to WAFA correspondent, the four slain people were the father, Ahmed Ayyad Zeno, his wife, Ayat Zeno, their daughters, Zahra Zeno, and Obaida Zeno.
The shelling almost completely destroyed the house, while ambulance and civil defense crews continue to search under the rubble, amid fears of more casualties.
In the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, medical sources reported that ten citizens were injured when an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced persons near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. A number of citizens were also injured by Israeli drone fire in the Al-Karama neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City.
Yesterday, the Gaza Strip saw a series of massacres committed by the occupation forces against families, with approximately 100 citizens killed by Israeli fire and airstrikes.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 56,647, and the number of injuries has risen to 134,105.
