Israeli forces expand military presence in Jenin as aggression enters 163rd consecutive day

JENIN, July 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces deployed military vehicles and troops across various neighborhoods of Jenin city on Wednesday morning.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces were heavily present on Abu Bakr Street, the city’s main commercial thoroughfare, where soldiers deliberately rammed into parked civilian vehicles.

The military presence extended to Nablus Street, al-Marah neighborhood, and the eastern district of the city. Infantry units were also seen taking positions around Al-Zayed roundabout, while additional reinforcements were brought into Jenin refugee camp via the Al-Jalama military checkpoint, accompanied by water tankers—indicating preparation for a prolonged operation.

The Israeli assault on Jenin and its camp has resulted in 40 Palestinian fatalities, with over 200 reported injured, and the forced displacement of more than 22,000 residents from the camp and surrounding areas. In addition to widespread home demolitions carried out by bulldozers, dozens of Palestinians have been detained since the offensive began.

The Israeli aggression continues to escalate as it marks its 163rd consecutive day.
