RAMALLAH, July 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today raided the Martyrs’ Street Kindergarten in the closed military zone of central Hebron, briefly detaining more than 70 Palestinian children and several staff members.
Zidan al‑Sharabati, a local activist, told WAFA that soldiers broke into the kindergarten while a summer camp session was under way, briefly detained 70 children, and held supervisors for questioning. The soldiers also smashed one staff member’s mobile during the incursion, spreading panic and fear among the children.
He further affirmed that this camp was meant to entrain children, in light of the dire and difficult situations.
The kindergarten lies inside Hebron’s “H2” area—a sector under full Israeli control that has been sealed off from the rest of the city for more than two years. Residents endure a nightly curfew, restricted movement, and rigid, military‑set time slots for entering or leaving their own neighborhoods.
