Presidency condemns Israeli calls for imposing sovereignty on occupied West Bank

RAMALLAH, July 2, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency on Wednesday condemned dangerous Israeli calls for imposing sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.

Referring to Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin urging the government to annex the occupied West Bank, the Presidency affirmed its absolute rejection of such calls, which are inconsistent with international law and the United Nations resolutions calling for putting an end to the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated that such calls were made in the context of the all-out genocidal war launched by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people and territories, and constituted relentless attempts to implement the schemes to liquidate the Palestinian question.

He added that such calls only contribute to destabilization and would not bring security to anyone, placing the region on the brink of a volcano, and noted that they would not contribute to ensuing any success for the US or Egyptian-Qatari efforts aimed at ending the genocidal war on Gaza and restoring calm to the West Bank.
