Health ministry following up on fraud case against Palestinian patients

RAMALLAH, Saturday, October 05, 2019 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health said today it was following up on the case of a fraudulent Israeli oncologist, who was found to have mislead several Palestinian cancer patients by deceptively asking them to pay thousands of dollars for a treatment.

In a statement, the ministry said the fraudulent Israeli oncologist had been looking for Palestinian patients of cancer receiving treatment in Israeli hospitals, and that he succeeded in deceiving many of them by persuading them to receive the treatment he claimed to provide, worth thousands of dollars.

The ministry stressed that it will seriously follow up on the cases of the victim of this fraud as soon as possible, adding that it will refer those cases to the relevant authorities to retrieve the patients’ funds and to ensure their safe treatment.

“This scandal is a proof of the healthy Palestinian decision to disengage from the Israeli occupation in all sectors, including the health sector, and to search for Arab and local alternatives until a full nationalization of the health service,” the statement said.
