RAMALLAH, Friday, October 04, 2019 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused today on a statement made by President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he said that the date for holding general elections has seen significant delays despite the multiple attempts to hold them earlier.
Al-Ayyam quoted the President as saying that the Palestinian leadership has rejected any solutions by the Israeli occupation -- regarding the ongoing financial crisis of the Palestinian Authority -- that disregard the rights of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and those killed by Israeli forces.
The three dailies said Israeli occupation authorities demolished two homes under construction in the village of Taybeh, west of Jenin, and in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, under the pretext of construction without a permit.
The dailies said hundreds of Palestinians holding the Israeli nationality demonstrated in the town of Majd al-Krum calling for an end to a recent rise in criminality and violence.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Mohammad Radi, a photojournalist of Palestine TV, was shot and injured in the foot by Israeli forces during a raid of the neighborhood of Al-Tira, west of Ramallah, yesterday.
Al-Ayyam said the PLO Executive Committee has formed a joint committee with the political parties and relevant institutions, tasked with preparing for general elections in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh praised the principled positions on Germany which reject all forms of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian land.
