RAMALLAH, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 (WAFA) - Weather today is relatively hot to hot conditions in daytime and mild to relatively warm conditions in nighttime with steady temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Wind is northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate and active at times, and becomes southwesterly to northwesterly in nighttime. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 27°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Thursday’s temperature is set to rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to mainly hot conditions in most districts and very hot conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Relatively hot to hot conditions are expected in nighttime.
PMD expects Friday’s temperature to further rise and approach 5°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to hot to very hot conditions in daytime and relatively hot conditions in nighttime.
Saturday’s temperature is set to drop by 2°C with hot to very hot conditions in daytime and relatively hot conditions in nighttime.
PMD warns people against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on Friday, especially during the peak hours of the day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm local time, and against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
