RAMALLAH, Friday, August 02, 2019 (WAFA) – Hot weather conditions are expected to prevail today despite a slight drop in temperature, which remains 2°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD)
Wind is southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate to active at times. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
PMD expects Friday’s temperature to further drop but remains slightly above the annual average.
A rise in temperature is expected on Saturday through Sunday to become 3°C above the average.
Similar weather conditions are likely on Monday.
PMD warned people against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the peak hours of the day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm local time, and against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
