Seven shooters in events turn themselves over to Palestinian police

JENIN, Thursday, August 01, 2019 (WAFA) – Seven Palestinians deemed wanted by police in the northern West Bank city of Jenin for shooting in the air during events such as weddings or release of prisoners from Israeli jails turned themselves over to security forces in Jenin refugee camp, today said Jenin governor, Akram Rjoub.

He said the seven had endangered peoples’ lives by shooting in events where many people gather and in clear violation of orders not to use weapons under any circumstance in any event.

He said the police will not go easy on anyone who opens fire in the air in weddings or any event and any such act will be taken seriously.

Rjoub said legal action will be taken against the seven, who turned themselves in to police voluntarily.

Many innocent bystanders were killed in the reckless use of weapons during celebrations.

The Palestinian Authority bans public display and use of weapons by the general public.
