GAZA, Sunday, March 24, 2019 (WAFA) – A number of Palestinians suffered from tear gas suffocation after Israeli forces attacked peaceful demonstrations that took place at multiple parts at the Gaza border with Israel as part of the ‘Great March of Return’ protests, said medical sources.
Israeli forces stationed at military watchtowers along the barbed-wire fence between Israel and Gaza to the east of Gaza city, Jabaliya town in the northern Strip, al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Khan Younis and Rafah cities to the south of the Strip, fired a barrage of tear gas canisters toward demonstrators, causing several people to suffocate.
They were all treated at the scene.
The Great March of Return protests began on March 30 and are planned to continue until a 12-year long Israeli blockade on Gaza is lifted.
