Israeli authorities ban Waqf official, elderly from entering al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem

 

JERUSALEM, Sunday, March 24, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities banned an official of the Muslim Waqf (endowment) department and an elderly from entering al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem for a period of time.

Head of the Manuscripts Department at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Radwan Amro, was banned from entering the mosque for a period of seven days.

Meanwhile, an elderly; Nafeesa Khuwais was summoned for interrogation earlier today before being ordered to stay away from the mosque for a period of two weeks.

A Jerusalemite youth who was identified as A’rin Za’aneen was also barred from entering the mosque for two weeks.

Israeli police, in a campaign to impose its control over Al-Aqsa Mosque, has been barring many guards, religious figures and women from being inside the compound for days and weeks at a time under different pretexts.
