RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 09, 2019 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement warned on Saturday that the American-sponsored Warsaw conference, scheduled to open on Wednesday, is a conspiracy intended to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

“The Warsaw conspiracy aims at liquidating the Palestinian cause and is an American-Israeli attempt to pass the deal of shame and to spread ideas not acceptable to anyone other than those who are traitors to Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the Holy Sepulcher,” said Osama Qawasmi, member of Fatah Revolutionary Council and its spokesman.

“Any attempt to circumvent the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is nothing more than an air jump and will certainly fail,” he added in a statement. “The only party delegated to speak on behalf of our Palestinian people is the PLO and we will not and did not delegate any other party to speak on our behalf.”

The Fatah official said that “any Arab meeting with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu or any kind of normalization with the Israeli occupying power is considered a stab for Jerusalem, our Palestinian people and the Palestinian blood that has been shed. It will be looked at as a free gift to Tel Aviv and an encouragement for its occupation and crimes against the Palestinian people.”

The US has called for conference in Warsaw on the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue. The PLO, which cut all contacts with the US administration since its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December 2017, closing the PLO office in Washington and cutting all aid to the Palestinians, has refused to attend it and denounced it as a conspiracy to end Palestinian rights in Jerusalem, independence, statehood and return of refugees to their homes usurped in 1948.
