GDP slightly up in West Bank, down in Gaza Strip in Q2 and GDP per capita down in both

 

RAMALLAH, September 27, 2018 (WAFA) - Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed a decrease of 1.3% in GDP in Palestine during the 2nd quarter 2018 compared to the 2nd quarter 2017, an increase of 0.2% in the West Bank and decrease 6.1% in Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.

The decrease was 0.8% in Palestine compared to the 1st quarter 2018 at constant prices, it said.

GDP for the 2nd quarter 2018 at constant prices was $2,560.9 million for the West Bank and $790.4 million for Gaza Strip.

GDP per Capita for Palestine at constant prices was $735.8 during the 2nd quarter 2018, a decrease of 4% compared to the 2nd quarter 2017.

As for the West Bank, it was $974.1, a decrease by 2%, while for Gaza Strip it was $410.4, a decrease by 9%.
