NEGEV, April 5, 2026 (WAFA) – A young man, 36, from Shaqib al-Salam town in the 1948 territories, was killed on Sunday night after being stabbed in a crime that took place in Ofakim city, in the Negev.

With this crime, the death toll from killings in the Palestinian community inside the 1948 lands has risen to 77 since the beginning of 2026.

Since the start of April, three people have been killed. The overall toll includes five women, three young men killed by Israeli police gunfire, and three boys under the age of 18.

It is noted that 2025 saw a record high in killings, with 252 Arab victims, amid accusations of Israeli police negligence and complicity with organized crime, and their failure to provide security and safety for Arab citizens.

Palestinians in Israel accuse the police and government of discriminating against them and not doing enough to stop crime in their towns compared to Jewish towns.
