JERUSALEM, April 5, 2026 (WAFA) – The Israeli municipality in Jerusalem forced Ali Younis Abu Rmeileh, a resident of the al-Thawri neighborhood in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to demolish his 60-square-meter home, which houses four people.
Local sources confirmed that the house was built four years ago, and that this is the second time Abu Rmeileh has been forced to demolish his home in the past six years, continuing the occupation's policies aimed at displacing residents from the neighborhood.
The Israeli occupation authorities force Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem to demolish their own homes under the pretext of lacking building permits. Those who refuse have their homes demolished by the occupation authorities, who then impose exorbitant costs on the owners.
