Israeli warplanes attack several locations in Gaza, one Palestinian lightly injured

GAZA, July 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes attacked several locations in the Gaza Strip since the early hours of Saturday, prompting firing of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel, according to WAFA correspondent. One Palestinian was reportedly lightly injured from shrapnel in the Beit Hanoun area in the north of Gaza.

Warplanes attacked agricultural areas and sites in the north, center and south of the Gaza Strip, said the correspondent. The missiles caused big holes in the ground in some areas and damage to homes in others as well as panic among residents.

Fire and serious damage was caused in many locations targeted by the Israeli planes throughout the Gaza Strip.

Israel claimed the attack was in retaliation for the firing of incendiary balloons from Gaza into Israel during the border protests on Friday that have caused fire and damage to Israeli fields. It said it attacked and destroyed a tunnel.

In response, rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel without causing any damage or injuries on the Israeli side. Israel claimed over 30 rockets were fired, some of them intercepted in the air by the Israeli Patriot rockets.
