NABLUS, June 29, 2018 (WAFA) – Extremist Israeli settlers from illegal Itamar settlement, to the east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, set fire on Friday to olive trees outside the nearby village of Beit Furik, according to local sources.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the area, told WAFA that extremist Israeli settlers from Itamar escorted by soldiers set fire to the olive trees which belong to Palestinian villagers from Beit Furik.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
