Japan expresses deep concern over Gaza events

TOKYO, May 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Japan expressed on Tuesday deep concern over the latest events in Gaza during which Israeli soldiers shot and killed on Monday more than 60 Palestinian civilians and injured over 2000 others.

Japanese foreign ministry press secretary, Norio Maruyama, said in a statement that Japan calls on all parties concerned not to escalate the situation.

“Japan believes that the issue should be resolved through efforts of both sides to build mutual trust and through negotiations between them. Japan stresses that all parties concerned need to continue efforts to achieve peace based on a two- state solution.”
