GAZA, April 27, 2018 (WAFA) – At least three Palestinians were killed while more than 611 others, including a journalist and medical staff, were either injured by live gunfire or suffocated from teargas inhalation, as Israeli forces attacked the non-violent protesters participating in the fifth Friday of the ongoing Great March of Return protests at the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health.
A number of protesters were injured as the Israeli forces fired live shots at the protesters who were demonstrating peacefully in multiple locations across the eastern border of the Gaza Strip.
The forces also fired teargas canisters at the protesters, causing many cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation.
Today‘s protests are titled "the Friday of Rebellious Youth," and the organizers said the protests are dedicated to honor the 40 protesters who have been fatally shot by Israeli occupation forces since the outbreak of protests on March 30.
The culmination of the Great March of Return protests will come on May 15, the day the United States is to officially open its consulate in occupied Jerusalem, the first day of the holy Muslim holiday Ramadan and the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Catastrophe, the Nakba of 1948.
