Weather forecast: Relatively chilly, sporadic rain showers expected

RAMALLAH, February 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Friday is partly cloudy, occasionally dusty and relatively chilly in daytime followed by increasing cloudiness and chilly conditions in nighttime, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Temperatures set to rise and approach four degrees Celsius (°C) above the seasonal average. Sporadic rain showers are set to fall in the afternoon and evening and become steady heavy rain overnight with occasional thunderstorms and hail.

Wind is southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, active at times. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem is set to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah a high of 16°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, temperature is set to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 13°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza.

PMD expects a significant drop in temperatures which reach two °C below the average on Saturday with cloudy  and chilly conditions. Occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected which could bring small hail.

Temperatures are set to slightly rise on Sunday with chilly and partly cloudy conditions. Steady periods of occasionally heavy rains and hail are set to drop in the morning paving the way to increasing sunshine and rain showers in the afternoon.

Mainly cloudy  and relatively chilly conditions are expected for Monday and a rise in temperatures which reach two °C above the average.

PMD warns citizens on Saturday and Sunday against gusts, floods in valleys and low areas, slippery roads due to hail and low visibility due to fog formation.
