RAMALLAH, August 14, 2017 (WAFA) - The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine decreased in July by 0.15% compared with June, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Monday.
CPI decreased by 0.58% in Gaza Strip and by 0.13% in the Jerusalem outside the Israeli annexed parts, while it increased by 0.36% in the West Bank.
When compared to July of the previous year, the CPI decreased by 0.90%; a drop by 1.08% in the West Bank and by 0.80% in Gaza Strip, while it increased by 1.05% in Jerusalem.
The CPI, however, increased during the first seven months of 2017 0.25% compared with the same period of the previous year. It increased by 2.72% in Jerusalem and by 0.47% in the West Bank, while it decreased by 0.20% in Gaza Strip, said the PCBS.
The changes in CPI for July 2017 are traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month:
