RAMALLAH, July 29, 2017 (WAFA) – Local elections complementary voting began Saturday morning in 25 polling centers across the West Bank, according to the Central Elections Commission (CEC).
Polls opened at 7:00 a.m. and are supposed to close at 7:00 p.m.
An estimated 43,000 registered voters are eligible to cast their vote in 14 localities in the West Bank where 51 nominated lists (411 candidates) will be competing for a total of 142 designated council seats.
Complementary elections are held for the West Bank councils that did not participate in the general local elections held on May 13 for various reasons. Gaza did not participate in the local elections.
The CEC urged voters to cast their vote and elect their council representatives.
Counting of votes will commence immediately after the closure of polling centers in each polling station and preliminary elections results are expected to be published on Sunday.
