RAMALLAH, July 27, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained at least 13 Palestinians and seized a vehicle and a sum of cash during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestinian security sources and an activist.
Israeli forces conducted predawn raids into the Hebron district towns of Dura, Idna and Surif, detaining five Palestinians and seizing a Palestinian-registered vehicle and the sum of 7,000 Israeli shekels (approximately $2,000).
Muhammad Awad, coordinator of the anti-settlement and anti-wall committee, said forces ransacked several homes and detained two Palestinians, including a former prisoner, during a raid that sparked clashes into Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron.
During the raid, he added, forces fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades towards homes and youths who protested the raid, causing several protestors to suffocate.
Meanwhile, forces detained two former prisoners, including a 55-year-old Palestinian, during a raid into Bethlehem city and Aida refugee camp, north of the city.
The predawn raid triggered clashes in the Bethlehem neighborhood of al-Maslakh, where troops opened fire on protestors. No injuries were reported though.
Moreover, troops detained three Palestinians, including two 16-year-old minors, after storming their family homes in Qaryut village, southeast of Nablus.
Another Palestinian was detained during a similar raid into Salem village, east of Nablus.
