GAZA, May 30, 2017 (WAFA) – A Palestinian fisherman Tuesday was injured after he was shot by Israeli navy near al-Sudaniya sea area, northwest the city of Gaza, local sources said.
They said that a 25-year-old fisherman was shot in the foot and was taken to Shifa hospital in Gaza where he was reported in moderate condition.
Israeli navy regularly targets Palestinian fishermen and their fishing boats off the Gaza coast.
Even though signed agreements allow Gaza fishermen to go 12 nautical miles into sea, Israel has unilaterally decreased this space to three nautical miles and only recently said it will allow them to go six miles into sea but only in the south of the Gaza Strip.
