Several Palestinians suffocate in clashes north of Hebron

HEBRON, May 26, 2017 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians Friday suffocated during clashes that erupted with Israeli forces in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, said a local activist.

Local media activist Muhammad Awad said Israeli forces attempted to break the locks of a local studio.

They also stormed two homes and occupied their rooftops before firing concussion grenades and tear gas canisters at Palestinian residents.

Similar clashes also erupted in the vicinity of the local mosque.

Troops fired many gas bombs and stun grenades at residents who hurled glass bottles and stones at them, causing several to suffer from excessive tear gas inhalation.

Local Red Crescent paramedics provided treatment to all suffocation cases.
