RAMALLAH, May 25, 2017 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeinah said on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks on Jerusalem obstruct current peace efforts exerted by US President Donald Trump.
Abu Rudeinah’s was responding to a remark by Netanyahu in the aftermath of Trump’s recent visit to the region in which he said that "Jerusalem was and will always be the capital of Israel.”
The president‘s spokesman said "East Jerusalem, with all of its Islamic and Christian holy sites, will always be the capital of the State of Palestine."
He called on Netanyahu to stop making such remarks and to stop what he described as “the constant incitement” by Israeli ministers against the Palestinian people.
