Abu Rudeineh: Israel rejected Palestinian requests to develop economy

RAMALLAH, May 23, 2017 (WAFA) –Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, said Monday that the Israeli government has rejected all Palestinian requests that have to do with developing the Palestinian economy, particularly those related to the transfer of security and civil responsibilities in Area C of the West Bank to the Palestinian Authority (PA), revising the Paris protocols and building of an airport.

He said what the Israeli government has announced regarding increasing electricity and water supply to the industrial area in Jericho, or building industrial zones in Tarqoumiya and Hebron, or expanding operating hours at the King Hussein (Karameh/Allenby) bridge crossing with Jordan were previously approved and do not meet the minimum requirements for developing the Palestinian economy.

He called upon the US administration to pressure the Israeli government to fulfill its obligations under signed agreements.
